Sherrill Canet is noted for her ability to create stunningly beautiful interiors. Incorporating her love of antiques and fine detail into all of her projects, Sherrill creates gracious and comfortable settings. All of her work includes an eclectic mix of the old and new, giving her clients' homes a classic and timeless appeal. Her designs start with the architecture and develop based on the clients' interests and lifestyle. Canet attended the prestigious Inchbald School of Design in London and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Fordham University. She has offices in Manhattan and Locust Valley, Long Island.

Charm and Chic

Sherrill Canet's book shares the historical architecture of Long Island Sound. Her home, built in 1919, became her design laboratory. While keeping with her traditional style of decorating, Sherrill compliments the old-fashioned architecture of her house by adding creative modern touches. She shows us the phases that each room goes through over the years as Sherrill puts her own special stamp on the house.
Her studies help her identify the essentials for creating an old world atmosphere--from Chippendale to baroque to gothic style. All of these elements help create a home full of charm and are the inspiration for Canet's own design of furniture for Stark. She shows us how to respect the elegance of the past while embracing the future.
